that the term ‘team building’ is terribly overworked and mostly misunderstood. The usual
buzzwords are often used to encourage people, the requisite and appropriate trainings

and on the company. The trick is to find a venue which can entice and engage everyone in the
group to participate. Ropes courses, white water rafting, off site team trainings and on site
special events can all be powerful team building events. However they seldom yield the results
management is looking for over time because they are all FAR TOO SHORT . In two or three days
the enthusiasm wears off and you’re back to the same old stuff. Real team building is about
behavioral changes and encouraging the new behaviors to become permanent.
